July 11, 2011 at 04:44PM Sustainability planning is everywhere these days; but where is the leading edge of sustainable community planning and how can we leverage it to enhance our own initiatives? June 30, 2011 at 06:00PM Knaphtali Knox, our Section's venerable publication's leader and editor of the Northern News, sent me a small set of what could be considered the Section's "legacy" articles on sustainability, or maybe simply some of Knaphtali's sustainability reading suggestions accumulated over the years. In any case, they form an instructive foundation off of which to accelerate innovative sustainability planning in the Northern Section, and they are recommended reading!

June 30, 2011 at 05:52PM Berkeley’s story is relevant because SB 375 (2008’s “climate change smart growth bill”) will necessitate that the planning and development professions and local decision-makers work together constructively to achieve California’s goals for making cities more livable and for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
